GENTRIFICATION/AFFORDABLE HOUSING/HOMELESSNESS

A stable address brings economic stability and homeownership helps create wealth. Chris will work with city agencies, not-for-profitscommunity groups, and the residents to make Jersey City more affordable.

Chris will work to incentivize homeownership so that the residents will have a stake in the growth of Jersey City. Chris fully supports the tightening of loopholes in rent control laws, beginning the conversation on community land trust, and the strengthening of the Inclusionary Zoning Ordinance to help address the shortage of affordable housing.

Chris will also like to work with the city and community groups to take care of the housing, social, and emotional needs of our homeless population, advocating for more shelters and transitional housing to help get people back on their feet.
